After attempting a shakedown game for the 3025 mercenary campaign player feedback has been unanimous in wanting more toys and equipment. This means I will be running plan B - a campaign that starts on the eve of the Jihad. Based on what Ive seen from the various players the players will be an Allied Mercenary Command unit operating around and in the Blakist Protectorate. For those not fluent in the universe, the players will be mercenaries hired by much much more prestigious mercenaries to keep an eye on and actively harass the territory of a pseudo-religious cult that controls a swath of worlds around Terra. This allows for a variety of terrains and opponents along with access to some nice starting technology.
Saturday July 31st will be the initial mech selection and shakedown, so dont expect a plot, just a chance to try out the mech you get to see if you want to keep it.
A small blog covering Battletech, the game of armored combat in the 31st century. Primarily this blog will cover campaigns Im running.

Preparation for Saturday July 24th
Saturday July 24th marks the first Saturday in the Succession Wars era mercenary campaign. That means most of the Saturday will be mech allocation and a quick battle to get everyone used to what they have. Right now I'm looking at using a fairly affluent but purely mech company. However as is fitting for the time period, adequate techs will be the problem, making repairs harder. Second those players who have helped me out previously will have the option to take a dumbed down star league era chassis. More later

Purpose
And so starts blog #2. Into the Valley is intended to by a blog about Battletech, predominately campaigns I run but occasionally posts on products and pictures of my collection of miniatures for the game. Time to return to my lair to finish the random mech tables for the 3027 campaign thats due to start end of July.
